All babies experience separation anxiety at different ages, but it generally begins around 9 months of age. It’s heart wrenching for parents to leave their child with a trusted person and hear the wailing and screaming. However, there are a few things you can do to ease the transition:
- Gently hold the baby
- Soothe the baby
- Leave the room, but let the baby still hear your voice
- Don’t let it be a harsh break, but be soothing and comforting.
- Leave gradually
